ASIC, a strong type of slide designed for specific types of accounts, was announced Friday by the CEO and co-founder of the Beijing-based company Cihan Wu at the World Summit on Digital Mining in Georgia.
According to the company's blog, Wu said it is designed to dig digital currency, using the SHA256 algorithm - a set of bitcoin, and the "BM1391" chip will boost the range of Bitmain's mining machinery.
BM1391 uses advanced semiconductor technology called 7NM FinFET, and is integrated with "more than one billion transistors" and is optimized for energy efficiency. Wu also said that in the tests, the chip can "achieve a proportion of energy consumption of mining power up to 42J / TH."
To date, the company has not issued detailed specifications for the new ASIC. However, Bitmain says it is now moving to the new ASIC production in large quantities.
Bitfury launched the Clarke 14nm chip on Wednesday, demonstrating that it "delivers the strongest performance between the bitcoin mining chips and is unmatched in efficiency." ASIC is said to have power efficiency of up to 55 MW / h and masses up to 120 GH / s.
