Bitcoin up to 5000 ATMs around the world Bitcoin (BTC) has successfully reached 5,000 ATMs around the world for the first time in its history this year, with the number of ATMs increasing significantly, as confirmed by CoinATMRadar yesterday. Monday, June 24, in a statement.
According to the latest statistics, there are now 5006 independent BTMs in about 90 different countries, where Crypto users can buy or sell Bitcoin (BTC) currency, some machines offer both services simultaneously.
The data goes beyond a long period of growth in the BTM sector, with the United States leading the trend as more and more sites and formats emerge.
In June, a group of 150 devices was launched, meaning about 6 per day, and General Bytes units recently surpassed Genesis Coin as a manufacturer with the largest number of installed BTMs.
It is noteworthy that this year, not only BTM 'classic' model is expanding, but other methods to buy BTC. Earlier this year, Coinstar included the possibility of buying BTC at its own stalls, for more than 2,200 locations in the United States.
The United States now has more than half of BTMs in the world at 3229 machines, with a new trial plan this month moving machines to Circle K stores in Arizona and Nevada.
Mark Greenz, president and co-founder of digital currency provider DigitalMint, said in a June 20 press release:
"We are delighted to partner with a respected organization such as Circle K, as this partnership opens the door to the huge expansion of BTC's reach to new markets worldwide."
Increased competition in the BTM market is likely to reduce user fees, which tend to be significantly higher than online alternatives.
Other personal options, such as coupon purchases, are also popular with users keen to avoid cumbersome identity requirements, making Bitcoin better than doing these things.
